Causes of high cholesterol

The causes of high cholesterol are innumerable just as the consequences of the same. The effect may be dangerous to some people as they may develop problems like cardiac arrest or a paralytic stroke. These two are the most common problems people develop because of high cholesterol level, and the causes of high cholesterol are being studied since a long time. The researchers are able to associate the reasons with so many factors. If a person has a closely related person who has had heart disorders like angina, then he runs the possibility of getting high cholesterol levels. Even if any relative of his does not have heart problems, he can develop some cardiac ailments.
The causes of high cholesterol are usually said to be sedentary life style of people, lack of exercise, high-calorie food that the body finds tough to digest and absorb, habits such as drinking or smoking, over weight and obesity. People who have got any of these in their lives, run high risk of getting high cholesterol levels that lead to many other complications. The causes of high cholesterol are too many and can result out of other factors apart from the reasons cited above.
One of the main causes of high cholesterol is accumulation of fat in the body because of rich food, which the body finds tough to digest and expel. The fat thus formed in the body starts accumulating in the arteries leading to the heart and the arteries start constricting in course of the time. As a result the heart has to function very hard to get the blood flowing to the parts of body. Those who have been diagnosed with high cholesterol should undergo medical examination frequently and should start burning the fat by modifying the food and exercising regularly.
